Despite multiple flight cancellations and a twelve-hour delay, Merek Vincent, Lieutenant Governor, and James Thomas, Past District Governor and current President of Omega Chapter 371, were honored to attend today’s testimonial recognizing Past Supreme President Savas Tsivicos.
The evening was dedicated to supporting the AHEPA Journey to Greece Program, and Brothers Merek and James formally presented Brother Savas with several contributions from District 10, Omega Chapter 371, and additional Michigan entities. Brother James also offered brief remarks reflecting on the longstanding relationship between District 10 and Brother Savas, as well as the District’s continued commitment to the Journey to Greece.
The event at Graycliff was exceptionally well attended and featured outstanding food, hospitality, music, and fellowship. Following a memorable evening with the Brothers and Sisters of the East Coast, our Brothers now head back to the airport in preparation for an early morning departure.
Congratulations to Brother Savas on a successful tenure and on the continued growth of the Journey to Greece program. Since its founding, AHEPA, the largest and oldest Greek American organization in the United States, has remained firmly committed to advancing education for future generations. Established in 1968 and revitalized in 2006 in partnership with Webster University, the Journey to Greece program provides high school seniors and college undergraduates with a unique cultural immersion experience and the opportunity to earn up to six college credits.
Thank you to all the Brothers and Sisters who contributed to a truly outstanding evening.
