Omega Chapter Christmas Service and AHEPA Phase II Community Room Dedication
Today, Omega Chapter held its annual Christmas service for the residents, a meaningful tradition that reflects our commitment to service, fellowship, and compassion. The occasion was further elevated by the dedication of the AHEPA Phase II Community Room in honor of Brother John Hatzis.
The ceremony was attended by Chapter President James Thomas, PDG, District Governor Othon Economopoulos, and Grand Governor of Zone 2 Christina Vlahopoulos.
President Thomas offered remarks emphasizing that in a small and close-knit community such as ours, unity is essential to continued growth and progress. He noted that honoring members for their service strengthens the bonds between brothers, reinforces a shared purpose, and helps foster mutual respect and understanding across the Ordee. President Thomas highlighted Brother Hatzis as a recipient of the District 10 Lifetime Achievement Award under Brother James’ tenure as Governor, as well as the Order of AHEPA Medal of Honor conferred by the Supreme President in 2024. President Thomas concluded by calling on the brothers to remain committed to unity and the ever-forward march of progress.
District Governor Othon Economopoulos delivered deeply personal remarks, reflecting on a relationship that spans generations. He shared that his father and Brother Hatzis have known one another for decades, forming a foundation of friendship and mutual respect long before Othon himself joined the Order. Governor Economopoulos recounted that it was Brother Hatzis who personally recruited him into AHEPA more than ten years ago, and that their shared experiences over the years helped shape his own path of service and leadership within the Order. He spoke to the enduring value of these personal relationships, noting that AHEPA is built on lasting bonds between brothers and sisters of the AHEPA Family that carry the organization forward.
Guests shared in a warm and uplifting celebration, honoring service, unity, and the enduring relationships that continue to strengthen the Order of AHEPA.
