VI Chebithes Host Summer Meeting & Picnic, Honor Award Recipients

The Brothers of VI Chebithes Chapter recently gathered for a spirited summer meeting and picnic, marked by strong fellowship, delicious food, and forward-thinking discussion. The event featured a generous donation of shish kebobs by Brother Dino Stathis, purchased from Melistas—a local favorite—bringing a festive and flavorful touch to the afternoon.

In addition to routine chapter business, the Brothers began laying the groundwork for an exciting new initiative: a picnic to be held twice a year. The idea was met with enthusiasm and will be explored further in the coming months, with a focus on unity, family engagement, and outreach for all in the AHEPA family. As well, they discussed doing a Kentucky Derby event.

The gathering also served as a moment to honor excellence within our Brotherhood. The chapter recognized four distinguished members—Brother Tom Javarinis, Hon. James Kandrevas, Peter Raegas, and Tom Laskaris—each of whom received awards at this year’s Kefi Night celebration. Their commitment to Hellenism, service, and fraternal ideals continues to inspire.

District Governor Othon Economopoulos visited the event and addressed the chapter, offering warm words of encouragement. He commended the Brothers for their unwavering unity and vision, noting that their example sets a high bar for chapters across District 10.

The VI Chebithes continue to lead with camaraderie and purpose, building on AHEPA’s mission to promote Hellenism, education, philanthropy, civic responsibility, and family values. We look forward to the great work these brothers have done, representing in essence the quinntesential AHEPA family chapter, by bringing brothers and sisters together in unity. AXIOS!
